I have a 720 credit score and plenty of savings, applied for a basic car loan and instead of calling to ask questions or for details, they denied me. Thanks for nothing. Ive been a customer for 5+ years and I dont deserve a phone call? Absolutely disrespectful and bad customer service. Also, not being able to access 24/7 support is a critical issue in 2024. I have since moved a majority of my money to a major bank because Safe Credit union could not be relied on, and as I stated, bad service.

Brace yourself to be denied any credit card or loan. I should have checked reviews before wasting my time and getting a hard credit check just to be denied a new CC shortly after the application. Not helpful at all even after repairing some credit issues the first time. The resource agent Kailey was uninformative because she couldn't complete the application due to a prior freeze with TransUnion. I was not prepared to find out that the application would effect my Credit with a hard inquiry because she failed to state that to me during the intake and questions. The transfer balance is subject to interest which I clearly did not agree with, but she still went along with the application anyway. She didn't seem to have enough experience or interpersonal skills to see that they can't offer what I asked for or wanted. The previous resource agent was more cognizant that I wouldn't be accepted a while back and didn't go through with the application, but stated I should return when my credit score was higher. Lo and behold they still couldn't help with a great credit score the next encounter and a complete waste of time. They are not even worried about their customer's situation because their counter offer was 3x less than what I asked and it would be useless to have to pay them on top of my current cards. It seems like they have a game plan figured out where the resource agent acts helpful and tries to figure out the customers needs then big corporate office gets back and denies that person what the agent offered, so the branch can look totally unconnected to the application. Then the friendly attitude is caked on the customers to accept an obscene offer and be swindled by the whole Credit Union. This is shameful business practices and I will not bring my business to the establishment anymore. If I could see by a short interaction that the customer service is so fake I don't even want to know who many actual ATMs they have in the greater Sacramento area to see they are by far the most irrelevant institution in the area.

Needed to break a $20 to have a tip for a massage I was getting. There is a SAFE Credit Union next door. I walked in and asked the teller if she could break it down. She asked if I had an account, I said no. She said she couldn’t because she had to run it through an account. I told her that made no sense but she was adamant. She did tell me there was an ATM outside but it only does $5 bills. I asked how I would use an ATM if I didn’t have an account? So if you have a drawer of money as a teller and I give you a $20, you then give me $20 in smaller bills, wouldn’t you still have $20. Why do I need an account. Guess what, I will never open a SAFE Credit Union account with that type of customer service.

There is always a long line at the Natomas branch no matter what time of the day it is. Management should really work on putting more tellers. Only two tellers for such a long queue.

I switched to Safe after being fed up with another bank due to their charges and limiting online transactions. Safe has been a breath of fresh air, I’ve always received excellent customer service and have recommended them to several friends who were considering switching.

Amazing business and customer service. Super clean, quiet, and respectable business. Mau Nguyen helped me with my information, he was very patient, respectable, and made the whole stay very welcoming. Will be coming back to this bank in the future specifically because of him. I look forward to conducted further business with Mr. Nguyen.

Amber and the team there made my day a little brighter after having a terrible day. It was all laughs and smiles right when I entered and I was met with amazing customer service. Already so much happier switching to safe.

Safe credit union stealing hard earned interest from customers

We went to Natomas branch and were told that CD is due 7/12/23 which SCU staff had included the grace period. Talked to John branch manager who was of no assistance. Micah Grant, VP of Corporate Communications called us to so we can resolve the issue. Instead of also representing the SCU customer, he was a shark and sided with VP of Retail Staci Corral who only understands and cares about her bonus. They did not even bother to call a 80 year old woman but stole her hard earned interest money. There isn't sufficient time allocated or allowed at the time of signing the disclosure to go over every detail. What recent effort was made to let customer aware of these?
It is unfair that you are stealing our earned interest in the name of disclosure that your staff does not read or allocate adequate amount of time.

Micah and Staci - you have failed to respond to SCU customer questions about predatory practice at your bank.

To all wonderful hard working SCU customers, take your money elsewhere as the executives at this bank will throw you under bus.

Thank you,
Harvey
