Honestly this review is not for Higginbotham Ins holistically because I only do business with a particular section of this company. Nevertheless, this review is being wrote on behalf of an employee of theirs Courtney. Subsidiary whom she work for is Gilliams Ins Agency believe located in Houston. Ive been doing business with Gilliams IA for many years we had a slight misunderstanding on exactly what I was looking for regarding insurance coverage for my trucks and as a result Im having to pay $7,200 for my coverage to continue by the close of business TODAY! I was told by the insurer Progressive the situation could have been rectified but Courtney did not extend her best hand to assist my company in this matter.

Worst business I have ever had to deal with. One of Higginbothams agents, has said numerous times that Lucent Health mirrored the BCBS plan that we previously had. Either the insurance agent is completely unaware of what he is selling or he is willfully misconstruing what is being offered. They keep changing the cost of our prescriptions, you never know what the cost is going to be each month when you go pick up your prescriptions. It might be $45.00, compared to $15.00 with BCBS. It has changed repeatedly between $15.00, which is what it is supposed to be, and $45.00. If this is where you're buying your health insurance, be prepared for the Dollar Tree of the industry. And, I might even go as far as saying I'm giving them too much credit, Dollar Tree is probably better.

I happen to work here and I love this place so much. My employer really does what it takes to keep their employees happy and we also have great benefits. I would highly recommend Higginbotham for all of your insurance needs and if you're looking for a job it's the best place to work.

I WILL NEVER do business with Higginbotham again. I made the mistake of signing up for a Flexible Spending Account through the TRS Insurance offered by FWISD (which I would also NOT recommend). Unlike past FSA programs, Higginbotham restricts the expenses they will cover to prescriptions, copays, and doctor/hospital fees. You are NOT authorized to pay for over-the-counter medication with the card. This restriction extends to prescribed medications that have an analogous brand that is available over-the-counter. I've had a number of issues with customer service and the card not working on multiple occasions. Also keep in mind that those expenses that are called into question require a very thorough validation/approval process after-the-fact. IRS regulations are the root of many issues (including the notable fact that any unused portion of YOUR money goes back to your EMPLOYER, not you), but just save yourself the trouble. Your time and frustration isn't worth investing here. Sometimes the juice just isn't worth the squeeze.

I do not recommend utilizing Higginbotham as an FSA admin. They make it incredibly difficult to access your FSA funds.

Don't think that you'll pull up and have a place to park. They don't have enough parking for employees. Other than that they are super nice and helpful.
