I like Skipton for my Expat mortgage. I have scoured the market twice over the years and Skipton Intl had the best rates. The customer service is good and they do their best to help with any issues that arise. The only slight downside is the high prepayment fees, which are much higher than UK mainland mortgages for tracker products. Overall - recommend.

Always found them friendly and efficient; such a pleasure to have a charming, personal response within a few rings rather than a succession of electronic options and dreadful 'music'. Interest rates on savings are good, but lagging slightly behind their main Isle of Man competitor at present.

After years with a Skipton mortgage, I am trying to find out information from them owing to a change of circumstances. Trying to set up a video-conference to discuss this has been impossible. They only seem to want to deal by email and keep ignoring my requests to speak. This has led to miscommunications, misunderstandings and wasted time. I used to think Skipton were very good - not any more. This is extremely frustrating.

Took an expat BTL remortgage when I moved to work overseas for a few years. My work unexpectedly brought me back to the UK (so i was no longer an expat). Skipton International were completely inflexible wrt discussing terms - I wasn't even allowed to add my wife's name to the mortgage (for tax purposes)!!
