An absolute embarrassment of a Hospital. I would definitely take the time to drive to Athens than to waste it here. Dr. Johnson is so incompetent he told me my vitals were good when they had failed to even take a vital. I was literally wearing an unhooked BP cuff. Naturally he wasted my valuable time and served no purpose. I left when he said you need this but we can't do it. Could they possibly notify you of their very limited intelligence ahead of time? Saint Mary's you should have higher standards.

On Wednesday (10/30) night, my mother received care at this location in the emergency room department starting around 8:05-8:15. If my mother was not in dying need of care, I would have said something to this particular nurse that night. However, I feared that my mother would not have received the proper care if I said anything. So, I decided to stay quiet and handle things accordingly.

While my mother was being transferred from the wheelchair onto the bed, a nurse told another nurse (the lady that was putting the information into the computer), "she's drunk". When I heard this particular nurse say that about my mother, I immediately looked up. When I looked up, I locked eyes with the nurse that was being told that my mother "is drunk ". (Yeah, I heard her tell you that my mother was drunk. I know that you know I heard her tell you that because you looked embarrass). My mother had a freaking stroke.

The nurse that said my mother was drunk...you are a heavy set caucasian lady, maybe 5'7-5'9, your hair was straight down, hair color was slightly dark, maybe in your fifty's, your scrubs were navy colored, and before you finished your shift you gave the run down on the patients. I did not get your name, but I do want you to know that God do not like ugly. If you would have judged yourself before clocking in that day, then maybe you would have been off that night, laying in your warm cozy bed with a bad attitude instead of being at work judging patients. You need to be suspended. If I really want to drain my energy, I would make this a case, but because I know that you need your job, I will let life deal with you because you will slip up again.

I am a CA. I seen everything that was done correctly and wrong on this particular night. I was so upset, I wanted to contact Beth Patrick. While sitting right across from the nurses station, I heard it all. HIPPA!!! If you want to talk about patients, please learn to be discreet. While my mother was communicating with the neurologist through video, the sliding door to the room was left open three times (yes I counted), which goes against clients rights. While the nurse (the lady that was putting the info into the computer) was letting my moms bed down and up, there weren't any VERBAL warnings such as a simple, "I'm letting the bed down" or anything. That crap startled my mother. The radiology tech, her personality was dead, no smile or anything. However, there were two guys from the radiology department that made up for her lack of character. Great job guys. The lab tab was phenomenal. The PCT was extremely nice and so were the other nurses that assisted my mother. The nurse (the lady that was putting the info into the computer) was nice nasty. However, as the night went on she was sweet as pie. Regardless, she is not my issue. The nurse that said my mother was "drunk" is my problem because she should know better. I am sure she has been a nurse for a while now and she should be a role model for the younger nurses like the one that was putting the information into the computer. Hearing someone pass judgement on my mom while being there for something serious was very hurtful. Please do better.

This is the absolute worst hospital around my area. My mom is at the hospital with her husband right now. They claim to not have any beds in the ER open but yet they took an immigrant back and gave him a freaking bed. They are making my mom’s husband lay on the nasty freaking dirty floor in the waiting room because he feels like he is going to pass out. He told them that too and just told him to go ahead and lay on the floor. This is absolutely ridiculous the way the hospital is doing my family. How are you going to take an immigrant back first. I’m sorry but the sickest people deserve to be seen first not only that immigrants don’t deserve any special services. My family will never be back to your hospital. Y’all clearly do not care about your patients at all if you make someone lay on the floor.

I had a colonoscopy done here with Dr. Lawrence. The staff here is very nice and friendly. They did take concern in my health and make sue I was comfortable before and after the colonoscopy. My only issues is with the discharge notes only telling part of a conversation before leaving hospital. Making it out like the patience didn't want to listen or follow instructions that may cause health issues. I listen to everything the nurse had to tell me and made sure I understood it clearly. Stating I didn't listen or talked the whole time she was speaking is totally false.. The volunteer also the conversation with her about driving, she only told her part. I was told I could not drive for at least 24 hours and I agreed to it. Stating I was non-compliance is also false, or a one sided story. I was told I could not be discharged if I didn't have a driver with me. I am type person that likes to cut up have a laugh about something and yes I do like to joke around about things, but when it comes to my health and anything that may effect it I am all ears and in total compliance. Hospital is nice, it has very nice people that do seem to care about your health needs. One sided stories don't go over very well with me at all. Maybe I should have added to the review the disrespectful comments I heard in recovery toward the Doctor. Anyway Dr. Lawrence, a great guy and does listen and answer any questions you have.

We love to see Amanda Lanier. She is so knowledgeable and professional while being kind and concerned. We leave feeling better and and calmer and have a plan.
Maybe she could give lessons in a teaching facility sometime.

I do not live nearby anymore but have had Dr. McIntosh as my gastronologist for several years. St Mary's is where I was able to have the procedure done and with Dr. McIntosh. He is the best and was impressed with the entire staff at St Mary's, being led to the right place and having everything explained in advance. Was seen on time and was impressed. Clean and caring staff and Dr. McIntosh made the drive worthwhile. I recommend it!

This hospital was like none I've ever been to. It was very clean, everyone that was working there actually cared and made sure my husband was comfortable while waiting on me, the doctor actually checked in and talked to me and all of the nurses and tech would come check in to make sure I was doing okay and ask if I needed anything. The doctor and nurses genuinely want to help their patients.I received more help and advice at this hospital than any I have been to regarding this issue. It's refreshing to go somewhere that doesn't minimize my symptoms. Needless to say, they got to the bottom of everything and I couldn't have asked for a better team.

I must also add the young lady at the front desk was also very kind and willing to help. I don't have any medical insurance and she gave me paperwork to receive assistance and explained it all very clearly.

All in all, everyone here seems to genuinely care about people.
