Actually, this is a 5 star store. However if I gave it full that it desrves, this review will be buried under reviews and/or you would have probably skipped it. This is a real gem or a mini REI on the 101 freeway for outdoor stuff/gear. It as such seems like an unofficial "Patagonia" outlet store. An impressive selection of Patagonia products at discounted prices. If you are a serious hiker or an avid outdoor person, do make a point to stop by.
(If you are the owner of this place and if you think my one star will hurt your sales or reputation, I will gladly convert to 5 stars that it truly deserves.)

Went to the Patagonia store and they didn’t have what I was looking for. They recommended I go to Cheap Sports where I found the perfect hat for an upcoming trip. By Patagonia no less but about 35 percent cheaper. Two staff members helped me adjust it and explained all the features. Friendly helpful staff. High quality products at great prices.

I spent over $600 here, then decided to Google the items for a price comparison. Most of the Patagonia items were cheaper at the Patagonia Pacific Ironworks store 1 block away. Also, other items were available on Amazon at >50% off. So I returned all items to Real Cheap sports and saved a lot of money. The 1 star is for the employees who are friendly and very helpful.

Salesperson told me I wouldn’t find a better price anywhere and today I was at REI and the same jacket was $40 less plus an extra 20%. Check your prices before trusting this place.

Can't say enough great things about this store! They have a very well curated selection of gear and super friendly and knowledgeable staff that are incredibly helpful. The staff use the products they sell and have a lot of experience to help you pick out the right items.

Often has high quality clothing on clearance. I always go to Real Cheap Sports first whenever I need something. Only if they don't have it will I go to a big box store or order online. Shop local! This store is a gem for the community and advocate for Los Padres and our other precious outdoor spaces.

Staff are friendly, patient and really care about finding you the right gear for your adventures, whether you're a newbie or a total gear nerd. I've spent more time here discussing the merits of wool than I should admit. Their stuff has a very reasonable price to quality ratio and they have a good sales rack.
