Obviously pretty consistant here with the reviews. MassMutual is more than happy to take your money but complete jerks when you have a legitimate claim. I can't emphasize enough if you need insurance of any kind do your research for a reputable company this one is not it. MassMutual what is the purpose of being rude right from the start of calling in on a claim you sent me a letter on? Especially when it involves the death of a family member? Do you just want to cause extra pain?

If I could give ZERO stars I would. As a financial professional for over 7 years now, I've never encountered a call center representative as rude and unwilling to work as Cassidy A. If you have questions on a client's annuity contract, you are better off conference calling with the client on the line because not even Agents can service client contracts without a special new ID number (not the Agent # assigned for contracting, mind you) that no one was even informed of, including our B/D, which is one of the largest in the nation. It doesn't matter if we wrote the business or are listed as servicing agents of record, we get NO help from their Service Center regardless. If this is how they treat the agents SELLING their products and PAYING their paychecks, I can't even imagine what the service is like for the contract owners. The joke is on the misinformed Cassidy though, because I called back right after I hung up with her, and got a different representative who actually wasn't lazy! Thankfully they provided some clarity and direction. Now our back office is putting in extra work with them, all so we can continue servicing our clients annuity contracts that we've been servicing for years already.

BOUGHT AN ANNUITY FROM THEM AUG 2023 THERE SERVICE OS HORRIBLE MY MONEY IS SUPPOSED TO BE RELEASED ON THE EIRST OF THE MONTH AND THERE ARE MONTHS WHER IT DOES NOT GET TO MY ACCOUNT TILL THE 4TH OR 5TH MY OTHER ANNITIE ARE THE DEPOSTS ARE 2ND DAY THE MOST I WOULD ADVISE NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY

I purchased a Life Insurance policy in 1962. I paid it off but continued to purchase additional coverage. The MassMutual Agency was in Nashua, NH.
The Agency was managed by Mr. Alun Williams. He sold me an Insurance policy. We were both members of The Nashua Kiwanis Club of which I was the secretary. He was married to a nurse and they had 8 or 9 children, all girls. I promised Mr. Williams that if my wife and I have a boy baby, that his middle name would be Alun. We had one child, a boy and his middle name was Alun. Mr. Williams was born in Wales in a small village and served in the Wales Army. Later, to become a United States citizen, he had to serve in The US Army for several years. He started a Mass Mutual Insurance Agency.

I recall that he died at a very young age. His widow became a school nurse at the school my son Alun attended. Nurse Williams always reffered to Alun as her son. (she only had 8 or 9 female children.) Her husband's Mass Mutual Agency closed.

Today, I decided to cash in my Life Insurance policy. At age 83, I have enough savings to get by and my burial is pre paid.

However, my Mass Mutual Agent is not available. Corporate still prints his name as my Agent, but noone knows him. No phone listed under his name. Employees of MassMutual don't recall meeting him. Strange that my agent is no longer working for Mass mutual.

I received no help from Mass Mutual to cash my policy. I wanted the forms sent to me, but first I had to reveal my Social Security number. I refused to give it out for security reasons. I asked to have the forms sent to me via over night delivery and MassMutual wanted my Credit Card number to pay mailing costs. What!!! I was a client since 1962. I never was late sending in my payments.

My agent is missing. His name still appears on my renewal policy. The MassMutual Boston Office does not know my Agent? Why should I divulge my Social Security number and my Credit Card Number to MassMutual who use the Federal Mail delivery to assure me that I have An Agent, but in reality, I don't.

I am certain that Mass Mutual was a fine Company in 1962. But as of today, I found that things have changed. For instance, Wells Fargo Bank has paid a huge fine. TD Bank won't cash my wife's Three Certificates of Deposit and don't know where the funds are. TD Bank in Nashua, NH closed recently. New Hampshire has very few State Chartered Banks. Federal Banks have taken over and are under the control of the Democrats and Republicans who cannot agree on providing safety at the Borders. It is sad to see our Country slowly fading away.

This company has a third-world billing system, they can't take premiums on a schedule and charge interest when they're late. Save your life insurance - don't buy theirs.

Awful customer service, assigned claim agent doesn't respond to emails or phone calls. Still dealing with it now unfortunately.
