Dishonest and scheming.
I'm pretty sure everyone's insurance policies have increased over the last year. When my renewals came up in November of 2023 I decided to get quotes from several agencies as my current policy had increased by 23%. Although I had been with my previous agency for 8 years I felt the increase was too high. I provided the renewal declaration pages to Cabot and indicated I did not want any decrease in coverage just wanted to compare policy rates. Cabot quoted me some savings and although not the lowest new quote I felt very good about the agent so decided to change to Cabot. Over the last two decades I have carried $1000 deductible and a 1M umbrella policy. I pay in full as there are further savings and as I told the agent I do not want to have to think about the plan until next renewal period. The agent assured me she had all the necessary information and understood my desire to get it right, plus Cabot would take care of the cancellation with my previous company. I also asked if they would like to inspect the property before finalizing. Agent indicated not necessary as all information used is publically available.
This is where the disonehesty comes in. I was assured by the agent that all my coverages were above adequate and the cancellation of current insurer would be taken care of; which I really appreciated.
Over the last 3 months Cabot has notified me of two increases which pretty much now equals the premium from the company I was previously with which Cabot conveniently induced me to leave. I have been an insured home and car owner for close to 50 years and this is the first time I have ever experienced a mid term policy increase. This was a classic "bait and switch" ploy from an insurance company which I never expected. I was given the option to raise my deductible to $2500 to maintain the current policy premium which I opted to do. My bigger fear with this level of deceit is will they really be there if I ever need them because of a loss. I will hold off until renewal time and probably crawl back to my previous insurance company.
Be careful before insuring with Cabot.

After years of being moved from agent to agent, being ignored, no one having a clue and finally going without insurance because for the second year in a row, the ball was dropped; I am thrilled to say that I found a new company. This has been a terrible experience all around. I am giving 2 stars because at least for most of the time I had insurance.
I suppose if I was rich and gave them more money each year they would have done better... maybe?

While I typically don’t like leaving negative reviews it’s been more than six months of dealing with an open insurance claim. I have had to send numerous follow up’s to our insurance rep who I will keep anonymous only to be left ignored. Our issue remains unsolved since August (6 months).

I spoke with Tyler Brice. Although I was switching insurance agencies away from Cabot Risk he still went out of his way to be polite and respond quickly to all my calls and emails even a month later. If my situation changes I will go with Cabot Risk again for sure.

Horrible customer service from Stacy Baker. We put in a claim because of a road hazard in the city of Marblehead that resulted in property damage. Since the town didnt know about the hazard before the damaged happened they denied us!! Makes a lot of sense right I dont know how these people sleep at night. So make sure you have a crystal ball so you can see all hazards around the city and report them so when something actullay happens to you or your property you'll be covered lol craziest thing I have ever heard! Stay far away from this company and Stacy Baker, no morrals, only thing they will do is help the city get richer and screw over the everyday working people.
