I am under a time crunch, I needed help putting together a Notice of Intent and contacted a few local civil engineering firms. GLM was very nice on the phone, they listened to my issues and seemed to understand the time requirements. I was assured that Joyce would be coming out, same day, to view the property and would be contacting the town to discuss issues with them before getting back to me with a quote. I followed up several days later and she had not viewed the property nor spoken with the town. It is now more than a week later, I have confirmed with the town that the person she was supposed to speak with had never been contacted and I've not heard back from GLM either. Given the time constraints that were made clear from the first phone conversation, the fact that Joyce claimed to understand, and then the lack of action, I cannot say I'm pleased with my experiences. If you're not in a hurry, they seem to be very polite and personable, but it does appear that you will need to chase them, or expect to wait, to get your work done (assuming you can even get a quote!).

Update: as a follow up, they never got back to me, despite several follow ups on my part. Don't bother with them, they're not going to respect your time.

I'm in disbelief. I was referred to them, called and spoke with Joyce about a couple of projects. I was ready to write a check. Spent 30 or so minutes on the phone, she told me the projects were simple & familiar. I got a very good first impression. Joyce asked that I send her a document. I had it in her hands shortly after that. I called at least 8 times in the next 3-4 weeks, leaving several messages and often getting the receptionist who would say she'll connect me. Then after a minute she'd come back and say "Joyce has left for the day, but she'll call you back in the morning". The first time it was 4 pm so it seemed logical, but after 2 more of these responses early in the morning, I became a little more leery. My last 2 messages (one on the voice mail and one in person) I just asked for the courtesy of telling me if they didn't want to work with me. The final response - 2 weeks ago, from the receptionist (who I will say was always polite) after a couple of minutes on hold, said "I'm REALLY sorry about this, Joyce is out, but I assure you (Rob?) will call you back today." That was over 2 weeks ago. Let me be clear - I NEVER, EVER got a single communication of any kind back from them. I imagine they are capable, because of the reference, but I'm at a loss to see how they do business this way. I had read the other reviews and figured it couldn't really be that bad. : ) Buyer Beware.

I have called repeatedly and left a message asking that someone call me back. Have never had the courtesy of a response. This has been going on for years with this company, can't imagine how they are still in business. Don't waste your time.

GLM is a great company. They are very knowledgeable, professional, fair, and efficient. We used them for surveying and definitely recommend them!
