MMFCU has been there for me since 2001! I've tried other banks thru the years for promotional reasons but I always go right back after the trial period! I don't ever pay for use of any atm I want, the fees are returned to me once a month plus an additional free payment from $3-$10 just for using my debit card for everyday purchases. It'll be the best banking design you make!!! (Non-Paid Review)
I will say that. Customer service has declined in the past year or so. And there is not the sense of joy or happiness anymore, when I have to do business with them it's more i'm terrified. I've had multiple loans that were always on time and even paid off early most times. This last year I attempted another small personal loan to help with a car issue, and I was told that my past loans would not be taken into consideration. After I was denied for the first time in twenty six years, the woman berated me to find a cosigner and I explained to her that don't need a cosiner, and if I was to need one, then my 'cosigner' would happily give me the loan, interest free. After finding out that I was not going to be able to receive the loan without a cosigner part the associate then berated me some more and tried to convince me that. With a co signature, it would improve my credit score.
And yeah, what she didn't understand due to not listening was, I was planning to make the payments until tax season and pay the loan off completely. I am a single mom with 2 children. One nineteen year old boy, an army soldier & One ten yr old boy with severe ADHD and Autism. We have many appointments for my bubba and I need my vehicle for my Soldier at the drop of a dime. I do still believe in mass mutual federal credit union. And I will continue to use them because they are an amazing Bank, but I do think they have some restructuring that needs to be done and some customer service skills training. My bank account total does not give anyone the right to treat me.As though I am not welcome or second rate, and that's exactly how it felt. Hopefully, some of these responses are taken into consideration period the incident occurred around december/january 2024. Thank you greatly

The fact that they charge you overdraft fees for nothing is unacceptable. They do not pay the charges they charge you for someone attempting to charge you which causes a ripple effect. I hate this “bank”. Not only that, they lock any funds in your checking and savings accounts if you have past due loans. If you were needing the money for more important things you seriously need to rethink your choice of financial institution or hope you never run into hard times in your life.

I'm very disappointed. For years, the credit union was spectacular, providing great products and service. This past year or so, things have taken such a drastic turn that I've decided to take my business elsewhere. I've experienced my personal data being compromised (human employee error, not systems hack), multiple errors with their online banking including the bill pay system attempting to draw on account number that doesn't exist (I had to catch one that was issued as a check and contact the recipient to pull and destroy the check before it bounced), and slow responses from employees or they only answer a part of what I was asking. ACH request was processed late and for the incorrect amount. When I asked if they had a SWIFT/BIC, I was told US banks don't have them (although not all banks do, many do in fact have them).

Last month, our family moved from Connecticut to North Carolina. It was a very stressful time. I’d just lost my mom in the fall and was moving my dad into a more manageable home at the same time. Our realtor recommended a lender for his new mortgage and went with their recommendation. I chose MMFCU again. I started both processes at the same time.
Marie Chartrand followed up with me immediately, sent me a list of items she would need to complete the process, a timeline and a preapproval. She called me regularly, offered advice, suggestions and encouragement. Every deadline was met and my closing was smooth as silk. It was the very best experience I could have asked for.
Working with the other lender was an incredibly stressful nightmare and we closed two weeks behind schedule.
MMFCU is a great financial institution. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I don’t know how they were rates 5 stars on Google reviews. This credit Union is very inconvenient with closing at random times. There is no specific department when there are issues and they refused to provide me with payment ledgers for a loan. They do not respond to emails. I would not recommend this place it lacks structure, efficient response time, and member concerns.
