I would like to give lower than one star. One star is too generous. The folks who answer the phone are not trained to assist the customers. Every time I have an issue I get stuck in a feedback loop. I call the Gallagher customer service line. A representative answers, refuses to help and insists on transferring me to the healthcare/Gallagher rep at the school. The school rep answers, confused, and states that they cannot assist with policy/billing questions. They transfer me back to the number I called in the first place. Rinse/Wash/Repeat. This is beyond maddening.

For my student health insurance, I used to deal directly with the insurance company for enrollment and paying premiums. Now they have us go through Gallagher. They have been truly awful. Their payment link did not work either time the first two months I tried to pay my premiums. The first time they fixed it in time for me to pay by the due date. The second time they did not. I spent over 3 hours on the phone with them to try to literally give them my money, and they weren't able to figure out how to let me do that. They said they would fix it in 3-5 business days and assured me that my family would not lose coverage. After one and a half weeks, the problem was not fixed and they did in fact proceed to cancel our coverage. Then when I called, they had the nerve to tell me it was because I was late making my payment. Then they said it would take another 3-5 business days to fix it. My family is now uninsured. What a useless, awful company with horrible customer service. I would give zero stars if possible. I see I am not alone in being treated badly based on the other reviews here.

This company is a total scam. Colleges run their health insurance through it, but if you have health insurance of your own, they make it impossible to receive a waiver. They reject all the documents you submit as proof you have insurance, and yet when you talk to them, they won't provide a template for the kind of letter they are looking for. They are rude and unhelpful. Why do reputable colleges work with this bottom-of-the-barrel company? Their whole mission seems to be to do everything possible to charge you for services you do not want or need.

Unbelievably dysfunctional company. Every semester since my baby was born, it has been months of back and forth with incompetent customer service representatives who have no idea how to enroll dependents. Every single semester, the fight to reenroll her begins again. No one at this company has any clue what they are doing—they all say something different. All of the pages related to insurance enrollment on their website do not work—“enroll” buttons missing, errors, etc. The only way I’ve found to get someone to help me is to send multiple emails cc’ing every administrator at my school that works in student services. Even then, my enrollment requests get mysteriously lost. The company deserves to stop existing.

Maybe the biggest scam of all time, no exaggeration. The people who work for this company should be embarrassed. I go to Tulane and they have a “mandatory”1700$/semester health insurance that I do not need because, like most I have health insurance. I submitted a waiver and it was denied 3 times despite submitting a 232 page document from my insurance saying I am covered. They intentionally make it extremely difficult to opt out, making the deadline August 15 (4 days before school even starts) and connecting you to a call center in India where the assistants are unwilling to help and barely speak English. I’m sure many people are blindly paying for this unwanted and unnneeded insurance which is simply a scam, which is truly sad as their business model is to sneak in this absurd charge for a service most people will not use and certainly do not need. Giving this company 1 star hurts me to do. I wish it could be less.

Scam scam scam! You call the help number and you reach a call center in India. They reject all documentation of proof of coverage for our college kids and forces them to buy their coverage because they are athletes. They need to show what coverage is necessary and how our coverage does not meet those requirements.

I’m not sure how this is a functioning company considering the incompetence I have dealt with from them the last few months. My enrollment was pending for over a month up until I had to send multiple emails for someone to get around to approving it because I wasn’t on their main spring/summer enrollment list. Once they did approve me I STILL could not get an ID card. When I reached out to them to ask for assistance they gave me not one, but TWO wrong numbers of insurance companies to call. One of the numbers was a company they haven’t worked with since 2018! I had to go around Gallagher myself to find Wellfleet’s contact information and finally got my cards. Unbelievable.

0 star, even negative stars. I paid for my wife insurance coverage in August, 2022 but it was not active until Dec 1, 2022. I have made a tons of calls to them but it's not resolved at all for nearly 4 months. We had to cancel all my wife doctor appointments during that period. Everytime I called for support, they promised to get back in 48 hours, but it never happened. I wanted to get a refund for the period that the insurance wasn't covered, they denied. Plus, their website sucks, it wouldn't let me enroll my dependents, it would calculate the payment incorrectly. I had to email, call them for enrollment and it lead to this whole nightmare. It just sucks overall.
