I am very thankful for Steven Hoffman and LTR Financial for doing my taxes for the past 4 years. My husband passed away in 2021 and I was left with the taxes from his business and our personal taxes to be done. Steven handled the business taxes and our personal taxes, walking me through each step so that I understood my new filing status as a qualifying widower, taking a load of stress off my shoulders so that I was able to concentrate on other things. The process to file my taxes was always done quickly and efficiently but never felt rushed. I was able to ask questions and received answers that were easily understood. With Steven and LTR Financial, I never felt like I was just another client. Steven is always professional but also adds the personal touch by remembering to ask after my children and my rabbits!

This tax service was recommended by a friend, who did have a positive experience. I shared with this service that I had been hesitant to have someone do our taxes in the past because I have found tax services to be unreliable. This service, unfortunately, proved to be similarly unreliable.

I provided the owner of this company, Steve, with all the requested materials by April 3. He did not respond until April 11, when I reached out to him. He said he had not filed our taxes by April 11, the date on which he had expressed that they would be filed and paid for. When I expressed concern about the lack of proactive communication, he refused to take any responsibility. No apologies, no warm tone, just an immediately defensive, very aggressive reaction to my disappointment and concern. After a very confrontational phone call, he then refused to refund our deposit.

This was a learning experience for us, but I hope other people will be cautious in working with this financial service. Another point is that the website is misleading - this sounds like a financial organization, but it is just one person. So, if you do have a negative experience, as we have, there is no recourse for you. We should have gone to H&R Block on River Street, Waltham, where they have excellent reviews and also that reassurance of quality.
