I am disappointed, and more than a little perturbed, in having to wait several days to get a return call from the director of the planning department. What is equally perturbing is having to wait to make an application for a loan after having made an inquiry about moving a property line on a property zoned rural residential. Some residents of York County may not be aware that this zoning requires lots to be 1 acre; however, there is a slew of properties that aren’t even a half acre, and though the county has already violated its own rule, apparently it doesn’t give residents a way to appeal the denial of moving the boundary - even if it will then make one of the properties conform, and you’re lucky if you can even talk to someone about it. Apparently, it’s more important for the County employees and the person responsible for answering these questions to attend meetings rather than to respond to taxpayers. Currently, I’m in the third day of not getting a return phone call even though I’ve called twice and stated that time is of the essence.

Update: As soon as I wrote this, I received my call. Apparently, the Board of Supervisors may be willing to rezone areas such that the requirement is a half of an acre, which is how it probably should've been zoned 40 years ago). Increased my stars by 1 just because I still think that taxpayers shouldn't have to wait days for a return call, but after having spoken with the person in charge, though they were stern, they were knowledgeable and had a solution - even though it won't help me.
