I wish their communication was better.

I wanted to switch insurance agencies - but not insurance companies - and liked Wilkins' reviews. I reached out to them over a month before my premiums were due. They were short staffed, so they told me to wait. I gave them several weeks and tried again. They claimed they were still short-staffed, but because my deadline was coming up they would get back to me by the end of the following week.

I waited again, and when that *self-imposed* deadline had passed I called again. The woman who answered the phone was irritated, though I tried to explain I was trying to get this done before my premium was due. She eventually cut me off and hung up on me.

The head of the agency eventually called me and said that it was difficult to switch insurance offices because my insurance company doesn't like that. I asked if he could try, and he did seem open to it.

Looking back, he was trying to say no. Honestly, I wish he and his staff had just said that outright from the beginning. It would have disappointed me for sure, but would have saved all of us a lot of time. I can understand the benefits of diplomacy, as well as the difficulties of both company policies and a lack of staff.

But if you give yourself a deadline, then the other party should be able to trust that you will keep it. The woman who answered the phone on my last call was outright rude and unprofessional. Likewise, if company policies make it impossible for a customer to switch offices then they should say as much. It makes me wonder how they would tell a customer that a claim is going to be rejected. Anything short of an outright no could instill a false sense of hope.

Called today to get a quote for insurance on my harley. Gave all the information that was needed. And was told that I would get a call back. I never got a call back. This is not the business practices that Brian wilkins would approve of. Very disappointing
