I recently had a colonoscopy procedure done and this was the first time I used Valley Health Shenandoah memorial . In the past I used Sentara but after finding out that my wonderful family doctor Mr. Martin actually does the procedures, I decided to give them a shot. I have severe white coat syndrome and my anxiety goes pretty high at doctors offices. I couldn't be happier with the service and treatment I was given by the whole staff. Nurses, my doctor, Anesthesiologist, the people that checked us in etc. They were very professional, Thorough and understanding of my fears and made me feel very comfortable. I see a lot of bad reviews from people but after being on the inside and seeing what goes on in these hospitals and doctors offices believe me a lot of people don't have common since and are not easy to deal with. Medical professionals have a very challenging job to care for us and our problems. Don't read into too much on bad reviews. I couldn't be happier my thanks to the whole Valley Health team 5 stars from me!!

Came here with my daughter when she was taken ill during our vacation. She ended up having an emergency appendectomy. I can’t say enough amazing things about the staff!! They acted so quickly — she was in the CT machine within an hour and a half of our arrival and then was in surgery a few hours later. All of the nurses and doctors have been incredibly kind and warm, which puts my little girl at ease. We live in Arlington, and I think this hospital and the care they provide is better than what we have in northern VA!

Disgraceful. The ER room dirty. Floor dirty, dusty, medical waste container full. Syringe actually on floor. Would not recommend to anyone. Did nothing for my sister baught in via ambulance. NO one came when she needed to go to bathroom. Laid in her on feces!
She had fallen at home. One of the reasons she was there. Horrible experience! Update. Little over 24 hours later. My sister is admitted to RMH. Was told she had a stroke and has double pneumonia! Doctor said she should never have been released from SMH.... You decide!

Every time I have to come here the wait to be seen is VERY LONG. And after being placed in a room finally, only to be placed in the hallway( had to give up my room). This place sucks so bad. My experience here was never good. I would choose Winchester or front Royal. If I can give them 0 stars I would

Dr. Baksh in the emergency room does not have any kind of empathy with patients. I have been struggling with medical complications for 4 years. Today I decided to come here because I couldn't stand the pain anymore. After many hours here he comes into my room and tells me. that everything All Right! But he sends me home with antibiotics for 3 days without telling me why! I'm crying from the pain and I ask him if he can give me something for the pain before leaving the hospital, I didn't want anything to take home just to calm the pain and he answers me with an unpleasant tone "no" while I'm trying to explain why my English and my pain let me speak very well, this man keeps walking and leaves me speechless! without telling me anything or explaining to me what the pain is due to…. Only the nurse who treated me was kind enough to treat me with empathy! Teach your staff that not all the people who come to the hosp are addicted to drugs and it is even sadder that they treat the patient like this without knowing the internal struggles that one has inside. Then you yourself ask yourself why people let themselves die in their home... why do you come here for treatment like that?

I’ve been to this hospital a few times over the past few years. There are only a few that seem to care others treat you different not trying to say that maybe there’s some racism out here, but it is Woodstock I was recently diagnosed with Covid was sent home with nothing. I have a follow up with my doctor today And she gives me several prescriptions and is bothered that the ER doctor didn’t give me paxlovid His reason it was too late, but doctor tells me I had five days. The day I went to the ER was day 4, so there was Time still for me to take it and most of the encounters I have had at this hospital I do feel ignored, untreated and not a care given! I have even had ovarian cyst, which I would think a low-dose pain pill would’ve been prescribed and I get nothing. I have seen the same doctor a few times and it’s the same one every time that makes me feel this way. Don’t go here if u want care or are a person of color

I will die in my home before I ever go back there again.
I barely hobbled across the parking lot at 2am with severe back pain, already having rods and bots in my back. Immediately taken into a room I was given a pill and a shot in the arm, then left alone. 45 min later I was checked up on and said I was in Severe pain ... was given a rolled up sheet as a pillow because apparently they were short on pillows and told I would be fine. Then 40 min after that shows up again with discharge papers. I said WHAT I'm in severe pain, I've never seen a DR, your not going to do an xray? She says do you think we need to do one? I said YOU guys are the professionals ... I can't hardly walk...I'm concerned my hardware in my back is compromised. She says I'll speak to the Dr. Comes back a15min later and says if you still have problems in a few days follow up with you primary care Dr. It the took 6 min of me trying to get off the hospital table falling to the floor in pain ... they then offered to take me to my truck in a wheel chair.
