So frustrated with Golden 1! If I didn't get free everything, I wouldn't bank with them. You can't set up automatic payments on a G1 credit card online; you have to go to the bank and fill out a form. Good luck getting an appointment.. always 4+ business days to wait. Also, if you call the customer service # for help (which is only available during banking hours) and you request a call back through their automated system, they never call you back! So that's worthless! I've had so many problems and issues with this Credit Union I think it's time to say Good-bye!!!!

The manager asked me to check in with the app to see a banker. Then I sat and waited for an hour to be told they have appointments all day and will try and squeeze me in. After watching a vanker sit and pick his nose to wait 15 mintues for his next appointment to come in.
I deposit money with the teller onto my kids account, the teller tells me they don't take taped money. It had a rip so I taped it so it didn't rip more. Any time I'd had ripped ive taken it to a bank...
Modesto has the worst service I've ever had from a Golden One. 2 bankers and 2 tellers on a Saturday, crazy!

I have mostly good experiences with Golden 1. However, I have several credit cards that make it very easy to link to my bank account(other than Golden 1) to make a payment to my credit cards, but Golden 1 does not have that same simple option. Golden 1 requires you to link your bank to the Golden1 savings, add money their, than make a payment to the Golden1 credit card from the savings. There is their other option that takes several steps using the link near the bottom of the Golden 1 page. Please add a way to add a bank account to make payments simple, less steps, like every other credit card. Its very annoying without that option.

This is the worst Credit Union in Modesto. The staff is always slow and the wait is always 30-40 minutes. As I stand here in line there are 3 tellers 1 of which is not helping customers on the line at all even tho the line is out the door. The wait alone is enough to keep me away. I am on the hunt for a new Credit Union, if anyone knows of any! Valley first credit Union & Golden 1 CU are not worth the time.

Update: Another terrible visit to Golden1 CU. I waited 34 minutes in line to get a cashiers check and complete a small deposit. The teller did not smile or greet me in anyway besides waving a hand at me while making no eye contact. I gave her my deposit and she handed me on of the bills back, stating she noticed I had more cash and wanted to exchange the bill for another one I had. Mind you, this is a Bank! I am depositing a mutilated bill, that is fully intact with matching serial numbers on both sides. I inform her that, this is why I am depositing. You are legally allowed to exchange mutilated currency at a financial institution as long as both serial numbers are there and match. She got an attitude and took the bill to her manager then returned and said, " I'm sorry but my manager said we can't accept the bill." This teller wanted nothing more than to ruin my day, even after me having this long wait. The least she could do was be helpful and possibly even apologize for the wait (as I would do if I were assisting the public). That's okay tho, I explained to her how a smile and some good customer service can go a long way in making your day better. I exchsnged the bill for her lol.
It seemed as if she was having a bad day and taking it out on her customers. Needless to say I will not be back doing buisness at this location.
Please save yourself the Hassel and continue searching for a better financial institution who has your best interest at heart. It's sad that these kinds of people are in customer service. And this is who we entrust with our financials.

I am new to Golden 1 Credit Union. For the few times I was there, it would take me more than 30 minutes or more to wait in line since there are only 2 staff members dealing with the costumers. I saw the reviews and it was complained as far as 11 months ago up to the present, and nothing is being done about it. There are people in the little cubicles but are not helping. Why would you want to do this to your customers? You want us to regret doing business with you? Do you want to lose your clientele? We are all busy and time is important not only to you but to us as well. Why can't you have a better costumer service? Your manager should do something about this before you lose your customers one by one. I have the Self Help Federal Credit Union in Riverbank, and I have only praises for the staff. They are like family and I don't have to wait more than 10minutes. This little credit union has at least 3 staff most of the time and even 4 when it gets busy. Why can't Golden One do that? Is it all about profit to you? Never mind us your costumers?

Customer service terrible!Started an application for an account here online and then came into the branch to finish it. I did not have appointment and was looking for the no appointment queue when an employee came up and asked me what i needed. She looked at a tablet she was holding and curtly stated that there was no one available to help me and there were no appointments available today, but i could sit in the waiting area and see if something opened in the next 2 hours. When i said i would just go to another bank she said "okay" like she could care less. Ended up having a great experience at another credit union! ( By the way i have 52 years of customer service, over 1/2 as a supervisor; this employee would not be working for me.)

Personal is very friendly and they try to help you quickly so people don't wait in line for a long time.

Where is everyone? It's 10am there is 2 people and 20 customers waiting in line. Does not matter what time you come it's always like this.
