This company gets a bad rep, which is expected, because they take people's money. I had a very positive experience. My husband had a debt we didn't know about, and got served papers. We called and spoke to Cornerstone about it and they were extremely flexible and forgiving. Everyone was polite, and had our best interest at heart. I would be happy to deal with them again if need be.

These guys… Absolute Criminals. Paid off my collection from GCI that was fraudulent because I’m active duty military and they could not actually charge me for what they did because I had orders to leave Alaska. Well these cornerstone credit service people JUST as of MAY 5th reported to a different credit agency about my collection right after I disputed it with Experian and had it removed because I had so much evidence that it was fraudulent. Keep in mind this credit has been paid off for well over 30 days, these guys went out of their way all because they were butt hurt to report to a different credit agency about me. Not only will I dispute this one with trans Union but I will be calling cornerstone credit services lawyer or legal team and tell them I will be pursuing a civil harassment restraining order if they do not stop tying to ruin my credit.

I just received a phone call from a Monica from Cornerstone Credit Services saying I have a unpaid $600 bill from when I visited Alaska Regional. I told her I paid off my bill and she tells me the $600 bill is a separate charge for Denali Emergency Services. I NEVER received any bill from Denali if I did I would have paid it! I told her I need statements showing they contacted me about it, she said she will request it. She won't be able to provide anything because they NEVER contacted me! She also said most likely it won't be taken out if collections. I'm Flabbergasted! What kind of company does this to people!!

you’ll pay your debt off and then get a call over a year later asking if you’re able to make a payment plan to take care of your bill. completely and utterly ridiculous, wreaking havoc on people’s credit when they already took care of what was needed.

Called back to go over medical debt owed both Monica and Theresa were absolutely Steller and super polite and went over everything with me.
I do want to note for the others seeing all the bad reviews its important to remember corner stone is required to try and get you to pay they are collecting for businesses, Just like any other business they want to try to collect as much as possible its not personal its just how the world works. Also remember they are working a thankless job no ones telling them thank you for collecting my debt like we would say to a casher, etc.

My company has been doing business with Cornerstone for years. We use their credit card machines and when people dont pay their bills and after numerous statements go unpaid, we use them for collections and they do an outstanding job. I get that most people who give negative reviews are on the other side of the collection business. But take those reviews with a grain of salt. Their customer service is outstanding and as a business owner, they are on your side.

Update: “owner” responded, I called the number he said to speak to him directly… I had suspicion that it was a scam and ding ding ding, it was! First thing I heard was, are you over 50? We have a deal for you today! Press 1 to claim now!

I was working with a lovely gentleman named Jay, who deserves 5 stars all the way. He and I had set a deal to have my interest wiped and I heard one of the supervisors agree to that while on the first phone call of the day trying to settle all debt I owe. After offering me many different ways to pay and trying to make what I had work, Jay placed me on hold to have a supervisor move forward with the payment. He came back from my hold to let me know the supervisor declined what another had approved and now instead of being debt-free I’m in the same place I was before the hours I spent today on the phone with them. Those supervisors should be ashamed of themselves and I hope none of them can sleep at night knowing how they treat people.

I might have a legitimate debt they are trying to collect, but without a job I do not have any money to pay them. I tried to calmly explain that to them the first call, then the second call, then the 3rd call, now the 4th call demanding payment I flipped out on the guy. Time frame for this, 3 weeks. If someone tells you they are unemployed and have no way to pay anything, you might want to give them more than a few days to get a paying job before hounding them again and again and again. Further calls from these guys are just going to get nothing but non stop screaming until they get it through their heads to stop calling every few days.
