BEWARE of ever paying cash at a retail store. They refund online faster process and neglect the retail in person. I found out after paying cash and they send a check request (which is very confusing) no tracking or acknowledgment to follow. Called 4 times to see status and folks have no info besides sorry about your almost 3,000 just the way it is and it will just show up in about 4-5 weeks! I am spitting nails and now thinking i will return the other bike I purchased and take my business else ware Breakdown: 2800.00 check request one week and 3-4 to process DO NOT PAY WITH CASH and if so ask about policy Honestly, I have never heard of someone waiting 4-5 weeks. Just putting a warning out for customers.
Thanks for reading!

At Oakbrook, IL USA location Cashier Tyler and I discussed applying my membership discount towards an item I was purchasing. He said that he was applying and slyly asked whether I would like a printed receipt. When I looked at my receipt later I found discount wasn’t applied. I drove back and asked for compensation for their error, after much deliberation management, Twila and MOD offered a discount for another full priced item. They confirmed it would be emailed, it was never sent. Sad to see REI in such a sorry condition. It used to be a decent retailer. Prediction, they’ll continue to overcharge customers and discount until they run the business into the ground.

I've been a member for more than 15 years now. I downloaded the REI app and tried to log on. The only way to do that is to use the original email address that I used to sign up for membership. Not the REI member ID, Just the old junk mail address. I don't know the password and can't access that email. Imagine that... I stopped using a junk box... so even though I have my membership card I can't use any of my store credit on the REI app. I wonder why the ony use email addresses?
Wouldn't it make sense to be able to use my REI membership ID? Why even give out ID numbers?
UPDATE THE SYSTEM! IM DONE WITH THIS BS. Keep my dividends!

REI IS ON A SYSTEMIC venture to reduce there aging population. They are making it extremely difficult for non woke persons to sustain a job. I have seen three instances in the last 5 yr. There woke mentality is absolutely unacceptable. I will never shop there again and will support that issue to all my acquaintances. Your CEO IS Gutless and will hey goooo with the flow. Hey Buddy how much did you make last year?

What a garbage company! I ordered a pair of hiking boots and it took three day for this sorry excuse of company to figure out that the item I ordered was not in stock and then NOT inform me of this fact, I found out only after I was checking shipping status. I hope your company goes bankrupt.

I recently placed an $850 order with REI, and I'm deeply disappointed with the entire experience. The order was supposed to be delivered to the store on Saturday, and three items were meant to be shipped to my home. Unfortunately, none of the items met their delivery deadlines.

What's even more frustrating is that REI held onto my credit card without sending any notification that there was an issue with my order. I had no idea that my order was in trouble until it was too late.

This situation couldn't have come at a worse time. My family and I are supposed to go camping on Wednesday, and now I have no gear in hand. This has caused a significant inconvenience and stress, as I was counting on having the necessary equipment for our trip.

I expected better from REI, especially considering the amount I spent on my order. This experience has been a letdown, and it's a reminder of the importance of reliable and transparent customer service. I hope REI can improve their communication and delivery process to ensure this doesn't happen to others in the future.

I do NOT recommend ordering any items online. Their system is broken and many others have had the same issues. My local store has been helping, but the distribution centers and headquarters need to fix this. It is a bit ridiculous.

I've been a member for decades. I just read that REI C'Suite'ers are unsupportive of employees to Unionize.
REI used to be a "Co-op", REI used to be high quality & have fabulous year end sales, REI used to call itself & operate more like a Co-op, but in each of these sectors, it has veered dramatically from its original organizational mission that was attractive to members. It is now just another retailer.
I believe, as a Member, you should NOT stand in the way of employees who wish to Unionize.
