My roof was damaged by a hailstorm on 5/9/2024 and State Farm’s first damage estimate only included paying for replacing half my roof. All three contractors who provided an estimate for repair indicated there was damage to all of my roof and the damage that the inspector classified as “cosmetic” would still decrease the life of the roof.

One contractor suggested I ask for a re-inspection by a different inspector to get a second opinion. State Farm’s claim representative indicated a re-inspection would only be approved if we submitted photos showing the damage the inspector missed.

My contractor submitted photos of the damage on two occasions, but they were rejected as being insufficient to justify a re-inspection. It wasn’t clear what photos would be satisfactory.

I contacted my agent, Mandi Fortner, expressed my dissatisfaction with how I’ve been treated and asked for her help in scheduling a re-inspection. She elevated my concerns up several levels in the claims hierarchy and ultimately was successful in obtaining a re-inspection.

The re-inspection resulted in State Farm paying for my full roof replacement.

I do not believe I would have been successful in obtaining a re-inspection without her intervention. While she certainly works for State Farm, her primary concern in my interaction with her, was that I be treated fairly by her Company.

In a time that customer service and genuine concern are lacking, you will not experience that here. Mandi and her complete staff are the epitome of genuine politeness, knowledgeability, promptness and top notch customer service.

I called last night at 1 minute to 5pm just hoping I could get through, but the phone lines rolled over to voicemail. No surprise - I should have called earlier. I did not leave a message and planned to call this morning.

BUT...

Billie saw my number about 7 after 5 and called me! Most workers would have clocked out earlier and not looked back. Billie took the time to call me to see if I needed anything and then connected me to an external State Farm resource to address my need for a car rental. She is the BEST!

I don't know anybody who is looking for work that late in the day! You are lucky to have her on staff.
