Excellent! I've been working with Misty, the new Director of the Mat-Su Center, for a while now. She helped me get my business up and running successfully. Her advice and guidance has been so helpful and she has a genuine interest in making my business a success. I'm a bit of a techno-phobe so being able to meet in person was great. I found the programs and workshops offered through the Mat-Su Center very informative and they provided tools to help me plan, open and operate my business. Alaska SBDC Mat-Su Center Director Misty O'Conner is absolutely wonderful to work with. In October 2023 she generously participated in a healthcare entrepreneur outreach event I organized and held at the Mat-Su Health Foundation. The event highlighted local healthcare entrepreneurs and invited prospective ones to ask questions and talk about their ideas. Misty provided on-the-spot advice and insights and also followed up with anyone who decided to meet with her. After many years (20+) of going back and forth wanting to start a business. I finally pulled the trigger and did so. Was it a confidence level? Was it funding? It was both. I started searching for what I can do to finally make this dream come true. Misty, the Director at the SBDC Wasilla Mat-Su Center guided me through the process of starting a business. Provided me with professionalism and the caring that my naïve mind needed to make the dream come true. It has been a process but a very easy process to achieve. Originally, I wanted to do it all on my own. I wised up and emailed SBDC for some help. I’m glad I did, I feel more comfortable and confident that my business will be everlasting. I have started using these services recently and have been thrilled with the level of personalized help and support I have received.
