Terrible and rude customer service. I filed a claim yesterday about a health insurance company collecting $500 from me and then not setting up an account for me. Basically I feel like they stole from me as no proof of health insurance so no medical provider will see me. The representative from the Dept. Of Insurance called me today but not to help. She basically scolded me for filing a complaint. I don't think I've ever been treated like that from a place that is supposed to help me. She didn't see an issue with Banner Aetna collecting $500 from me for insurance for September and then not being able to show me in the system till possibly October thereby causing me to pay for a month of health insurance I'm not able to use. I feel defrauded. Guess I'll just join the ranks of the uninsured because I'm not paying another $500 for something that doesn't exist.

Inept, indifferent and corrupt state government institution. They let insurance carriers and agencies prey on the public.
Commonwealth Casualty(Commonwealth Insurance) and Fox Reliable Agency have REPEATEDLY been reported to the AZ Dept of Insurance for blatant violations, who does nothing.
These companies openly violate state insurance laws against the best interest of the public, whom this organization is supposed to protect.
-Example:- Commonwealth Casualty (insurance carrier) and Fox Reliable Insurance Agency . (agency supposed to work in the interests of the customer. ) are owned by the same owners (clear conflict of interest).
The scheme is Fox 'shops' for you, but blindly places AZ Senior Citizens who need mobile home insurance and security with the train wreck Commonwealth Casualty, that loses MILLIONS of dollars per year. (public info on NAIC website) This way the owners earn money as the insurance company and the insurance agency, which is supposed to be independent.
Even worse?
Commonwealth and Fox Reliable allow unlicensed agents in Armenia to sell new mobile home policies to unsuspecting Arizona seniors (requires an insurance license) , which happened to my Dad who now has a mess due to incorrect information from someone overseas who shouldn't be selling new policies to start with!
All these bureaucrats care about is collecting license dues and annual fees .
Call, write your state representative to end the corruption.

Commonwealth insurance should have their license revoked in AZ. Every representative on the phone lies which can clearly be heard if the state actually cared and requested the call logs. The state of AZ needs to do better with shady insurance companies!

Ridiculous!!! This organization is unless. My issue with the representative I talk to was useless. She act like I was bothering her. She talked down to then basically said the insurance company can settle a claim for whatever they want. An 100000 coverage for a commercial truck if insurance company want give you 20000 dollars they can. According to this dumb person. We the people are paying this useless person salary and she don’t want to help the very people that’s paying her. I’m escalating this to get her removed at least away from customer service.

According to my insurance company, the state of Arizona insurance commissioner raised my insurance premiums by $600.
This is ridiculous we are senior citizens and live on a fixed income and hardly drive far. My insurance company quoted it was raised for inflation. We don’t get an inflation increase.

This department is an embarrassment to the people of Arizona. They claim to perform investigations into wrong doings, however, when dealing with Gary Henton it’s clear they have no interest in investigating claims. They simply work with the insurance companies and take their word to close out cases as quickly as possible. I highly recommend using attorneys before dealing with the Governors office or Arizona DIHI, especially Gary Henton.
