Update: this real estate agents name is Andrea Maynard. Beware.

I’m trying to wrap my head around why this happened to my family and I and why this one real estate agent thought that it was ok for her to do what she did. Completely unprofessional and uncalled for. We were offered the opportunity to look at a house in Marstons Mills last year. The real estate agent for Bass River Properties had recently closed on it. She gave us permission to drop by and enter the house to look at it. It was love at first sight for my fiance and I. We immediately told her we were interested and that we had all the funds required to move in. We were even interested in the possibility of doing a rent to own. This agent got our hopes up and told us that it would be ready by September 1st 2024. August rolls around and we attempted to get in touch with her numerous times with no response back. She eventually did get back to us (after we told her that our lease was up and we couldn’t continue leaving our current landlord on hold for an answer) with “I’ve had some health issues going on” and that she was unable to get anything done to prepare the house for us to move in. Us being us, we were understanding and empathetic. We asked when she expected to have it ready. We told her that our current landlord was only willing to do a short term lease ending in April if we weren’t willing to sign another full year lease with him. This real estate agent guaranteed us that the house would be ready by April. So we went ahead and gave our current landlord notice that we would be vacating. It’s now mid march and this real estate agent has completely ghosted us in every single attempt at contacting her to confirm that we are still ok to move in come April. Two years prior to this, I was also looking for housing on the Cape. This was before we ultimately moved off Cape. I filled out a rental application for a condo in Hyannis by Craigville Beach. I paid the application fee and all. No one in the office bothered to contact me about the showing. So I wasted my time and my money there. I even recently paid off a family members large debt to the owner of Bass River Properties so that he would rent to my family member again. I have done no wrong by these people and it’s a complete and utter slap in the face for this one agent to intentionally put my family and I at risk of becoming homeless. I’m shocked to say the least. Just want to put this out there for the public to see. Don’t ever take anyone’s word through this company because they genuinely do not care. It doesn’t matter if you’re a good person or a good family. We were given a guarantee and we got totally screwed. This is not ok. If we didn’t even have a chance then why get our hopes up? Why even have us look at it? To waste our time? Pointless. Thank god our current landlord is a decent human being so we won’t wind up homeless but we are having to downgrade to a smaller space which was the opposite of what we were searching for in the first place. Clearly there are no decent human beings left on the Cape anymore. Its all money hungry snakes who wouldn’t think twice about screwing someone over. It’s really unfortunate and sad but it’s the truth. Beware of Bass River Properties.

Staff was extremely unreasonable and wouldn't work with me to set up a showing date. They are only interested in what's most convenient for them and wouldn't even considering asking the tenant or real estate agent if they could show it at a certain time even if you live hours away and are trying to find a place for when you move and work a full time job. They also wouldn't consider doing a virtual tour as an alternate option. The staff basically attempted on no fronts to offer an alternate solution because it was inconvenient for them.

I'm so disappointed I had a showing set up on Saturday a woman called me from bass river properties and said they had an off market property and Ron wants to meet me on Saturday and I stood in the rain from 1250 I got there 25 minutes early to look professional he was supposed to show at 130 I waited in the rain until 230 and since they where closed on the weekend I couldn't call and find out and I came from Falmouth with no car. They open at 9 but after reading all these similar reviews it doesn't sound so greatm I can't find anywhere to rent at this price

Money talks. The owner is not the landlord that will baby you or put up with excuses. The rent paid you are fine. Simple. With so many rentals owned by Ronnie and his associates, he's a busy guy, so you do have to be patient with repairs, but they will and have always been done what they said they would binded by the lease.

The agent was no show. She called hours later, to tell us she could not do it that day, And, we decided not to set up another date as she did not sound stable. Please, hire the agent who is responsible and sober.
