I banked with Suntrust for over a decade from 2001 to 2017. I had several account including a Business account which generated millions for Suntrust throughout the years. I received a call in 2014 from a Investment Banker Named John Timberlake who was a Vice President of Investment Services of Suntrust Wealth Management Division. He wanted me to retain his services for investment purposes. I decided to establish a relationship with this fellow. He introduced me to several stocks which I invested over six figures in it. It turned out to be a diaster.
He also collaberated with a fellow employee Investment Banker Michael Gonzalez who would introduce me to a line of credit without fully explaining all the risks. My stock pofolio was used as collerateral for the line of credit.
The stocks has since tanked and fallen below margin therefore Suntrust has sold my stocks to make up the margin of the loan. It was never disclosed to me by John Timberlake or Michael Gonzalez the risk of using one's stock profolio as collateral. This was very deceptive. The porfolio was clearly being managed by these two fellows. Incidentally, John Timberlake was recently sued and found guilty of churning while at Suntrust. He doesn't work for Suntrust any longer and was hired by Carter Terry in 2017.
I believe that Suntrust & Carter Terry engaged in acts and practices that created or maintained inappropriate influence by investment banking over research analysts, thereby imposing conflicts of interest on research analysts that the firms failed to manage in an adequate or appropriate manner.
In addition Suntrust & Carter Terry issued research reports that were not based on principles of fair dealing and good faith and did not provide a sound basis for evaluating facts, contained exaggerated or unwarranted claims about the companies true and accurate finanacial position.
In addition I believe John Timberlake and Michael Gonzalez engage in unfair Business practices and Insider Trading fraud by their stock recommendations that were tainted by efforts to obtain investment banking fees for themselves and their companies they were employed with. This wiped out my retirement account.
I am asking for a complete investigation of Suntrust Investment Services and Carter Terry unfair and deceptive Investiment practices.
