You rarely get a response when you use the email that is listed in this app to contact them. When you call it will often send you to the 800 number because no one in the office picks up whatever you do get someone in the office they seem flabbergasted that you’re wondering why no one is responding to the email yet they still never respond to the emails. I had issues adding a second car to my account. I had issues taking that car off of my account I tried to close my homeowners insurance and open a new policy and I had issues with that. They wanted me to tell them how much to insure my condo for because they didn’t have an estimator that could do it Evidently They couldn’t tell me when my car insurance was paid up through or my account numbers they wanted me to get all of that in writing for them to close accounts. It was the most frustrating experience working with them for the past two or three years. I never had to file any claims. Maybe they’re better when it is time for that, but I can’t imagine wanting to work with them after how hard it has been to communicate very simple things.

Just wanted to chime in here for a few minutes and tell how much I love being a customer of Cindy Shumaker's State Farm practice. We have been with her now going on about 22 years and have enjoyed the great service that she and her team provides. We have purchased about 6 cars during this time and every time we do, the service has been exemplary. I can't say enough about this group. Just recently worked in a trade-in/purchase of a car and had the pleasure of working with Tamara Taylor. The timing of the trade-in was delayed and I had to hang onto the car longer than expected. It threw the time table off about a week. Tamara was on it and coordinated everything that I needed in start/stopping coverage, getting the paperwork done, cards sent out, insurance rider sent out...all of it!!! Her efforts in representing me in getting coverage made the whole delay at the delay so much more enjoyable. Because of her, I didn't have to worry about a thing!!!! Tamara, you knocked out of the park to use a baseball term of excellence. We could not have done this without you! I hope Cindy hangs onto you for a long time and that we get to cross paths with you again in the future. You were a real blessing on this one! 🙂

called 1/23/2025 talk with some lady that said maybe she could help. After telling her that I had talk to Trae about buying new truck it just was not in yet. She said she would have to give Trae a message to call me back. NO call back! Had to do something. got coverage for both from progressive, 1/24/2025 AM.

Absolutely the best State Farm agency! When we moved several years ago and had to choose a new agent, I cannot begin to express how truly blessed we were to find Cindy Shumaker and her outstanding team for our insurance. Especially Margaret….there is never a time she delivered less than stellar customer service. She is always there for you and she delivers the best customer service and professionalism. She makes you feel like you are valued and not just another policy number. Margaret truly exemplifies what service is all about and what Cindy Shumaker’s agency stands for. Been holding back on this until I got a call this week. Switched over to State Farm this spring, a month later I get a refund check for overpayment of premiums, a couple weeks later they adjusted my premium asking for over $300 more, was this a bate and switch? why the refund then? Someone does not know what they are doing, a few weeks later local agent calls and says State Farm is dropping us from auto coverage but keeping our homeowners, I canceled the homeowners, took several weeks to get refunded for the auto and home premiums, no help from the local agent, this past week I get a call from SF asking that I come back to them for coverage, obvious SF has no idea what they are doing

Wish I could give their customer service 0 stars. Signed up about a year ago. Shortly thereafter, they called me 3 times without leaving messages about what they wanted to discuss. I later sent them an email about my account, which they ignored, and a follow-up email, which they also ignored.

After a year, they jacked up my rate by over 10%, which led me to cancel with 2 weeks left on my then-current policy on August 11. It was a Sunday, so I was redirected to a more general State Farm customer service agent who assured me my policy was successfully cancelled.

The next day I emailed Cindy's office to confirm it was cancelled. Email was ignored. I called the office and spoke to someone and found out my policy had not, in fact, been cancelled. But she assured me she would cancel it with an effective date of August 11. She refused to tell me the refund amount.

I got a letter in the mail stating it was cancelled effective August 12, not August 11. I emailed back to ask why they did not honor the effective date of the 11th that she promised over the phone and that we confirmed in writing. That email was also ignored, as was my follow-up a few days later. So they're just going to entitle themselves to an extra day of premium from me.

Stay away from State Farm. Stay very far away from this office. They will not respond to you. They will not take accountability. They do not care.

Edit: You assured me over the phone that you would cancel my policy effective August 11, but only cancelled it effective August 12. It was not cancelled "as requested." You blame State Farm (even though your website says State Farm all over it, and even though your phone line routes customers to a more general State Farm line when your office isn't open) instead of taking ownership for being dishonest and not honoring the August 11 cancellation date that you promised. When the agent the customer gets routed to is dishonest about the customer's policy being cancelled and your own representative is dishonest about setting an August 11 effective cancellation date, that reflects on you. Blaming others is not helpful.

You are free to blast your customers with substantial rate increases. We both know insurers always do this after 1 year because they only care about new customers. That is not a surprise, nor is it my complaint (it is what led me to cancel, not what made me feel ignored, dismissed, and scammed). This review is specifically about not honoring the cancellation date you promised and entitling yourself to extra premium money from me (something you failed to address). You have a long history of ignoring my written communication, starting from when I first signed up in 2023. You ignored my emails on August 20, 2023; August 21, 2023; August 12, 2024; August 18, 2024; and August 22, 2024. The only email you ever responded to was the one I sent 3 minutes after our August 12 phone call during which you promised an effective cancellation date that you did not honor. So "everything you could do to assist me" means doing absolutely nothing.

Your entire response is filled with blame and deflection—pointing fingers at the customer, at State Farm, and at the industry at large—while refusing to take any accountability for anything at all. You claim to have addressed my concerns, yet have done nothing but dodge them. Not a good look for your business.
