This agency is incompetent and puts its customers at risk. I am a long-term State Farm customer and this is the second time they have transferred me to another agent when my prior agent retired.
On January 15, we added a second car to our policy and it appeared everything was OK. We had a mechanical problem with that car and the dealer agreed to swap it for a different one. Same make and model, different VIN number.
I called the agency on February 6 to advise them and have the VIN number on the policy changed to reflect the new number. They emailed a temporary card showing the new VIN number. When I did not get the permanent cards, I checked my policy online on February 27 only to see they had NOT changed the VIN number, my wife was missing from the policy and some of the discounts I have on my other vehicle had not been added to the new car.
I called the agency and they agreed the updates had not happened and they would correct this right away. Then emailed me a temporary card showing the old VIN number. I again checked the policy online again today, March 3 only to find the corrections had still not been made.
No longer trusting the agency the get it correct, I called State Farms main office to talk to them about the problem and get help in correcting them. They confirmed the changes had not been made and were not pending. They walked me through the changes as they made them and even added an additional discount. Then emailed various documents to show all the changes had been made.
Unfortunately, the Darren Reuter Agency is so inept they seem unaware of the actual problems they have caused and the liability it could have had. The DMV have been unable to issue the new registration as the vehicle shows being uninsured. My wife has been driving and appeared not to be insured. If she had been stopped by the Police, they would assume both the car and her were uninsured and the car would have been impounded.
Thankfully, Sate Farm have now transferred me to another agent.
