I found their website online and really liked the locations of their rental properties, but some of the reviews scared me. I went ahead anyway just to try it out, because I really liked one of their apartments.

I love my new place! I've been renting for 3 months now and everything was pretty straightforward.

I signed some paperwork and gave an application deposit, they did a background check, it passed and I signed some more paperwork and completed the deposit, Avery and Steve let me stagger my first and last months rent payment, I picked up the keys and moved in the first of the month. Communication 10/10.

recently applied and will be renting from fenton, Steve has been incredibly helpful and reliable in getting everything taken care of. I applied on thursday and was approved friday and will be given keys monday. very efficient and professional. looking forward to renting from them! would recommend. repairs done prior to me moving in include the yard cleaned and the floors re painted. very nice 🙂

I am starting a new business after being laid off. It’s a handyman business and i contracted with this company. They took a long time to make partial payments for my work and when I took a stand, informed them they were on hold until they caught up with payments, they decided to not work with me.
The. They claimed two of my jobs were not done properly. I asked they put any invoices they disputed in writing, give me an opportunity to correct them or talk about a discount or forfeiture on my behalf.
They actually paid those two invoices they had issues with but still owe me $700.
It may not seem much but to a new business, literally, every penny counts.
I’ve reached out many times and no answer from them.
They run slums and have done this to other contractors.

I have been asked by Fenton Investments to remove my review, or "never contact us again." I won't remove it, but I will edit.
I have lived next to a Fenton Investments property for nearly two decades, and it has been difficult. They have frequently ignored my communications, leaving me to handle problems that shouldn't be mine. When their fence periodically knocks mine over, I have to fix it. When a prior tenant caused problems - serious ones that created a stream of trespassers on my property all hours of day and night - they did little to help. The maintenance person I've met in the past (very nice) informed me that "they have decided not to maintain that" when I asked about the mosquito habitat of junk and weeds in the back yard. Tenants (who are my neighbors) frequently complain to me about the condition of the property, the management, and the rent price.
I have tried to be a good neighbor: when a prior tenant dug deep trenches along the house's foundation, I convinced her the rainwater pooling near the foundation would damage the house, and the tenant corrected the problem. I clean up the trash that accumulates in the front yard every day (our street has a lot of litter), and I have managed and paid for the landscaping on the bit of property between our houses.
There is currently a very unpleasant smell of sewage coming from the house, which they may not address, since they are upset about my review. If this remains unaddressed, it will smack of retribution - hardly the mark of an ethical business practices.
The vast majority of reviews here are highly negative. I have to wonder - why not fix the problems instead of asking people to remove reviews?

AVOID AT ALL COST !!!!!!!!

The keys to my studio apartment were handed in late. They also didn't bother to clean the apartment. All they did was repaint the concrete with an uneven layer of red paint that would stain every time I mopped. They charged the last tenant before me all the things that needed to be replaced but never actually replaced any of the things they charged. They never respond to maintenance repair calls or any calls at all. They had absolutely no regard for any of the tenants living in the buildings. I had issues with the shower and didn't have hot water. Didn't get a response from them for 2 weeks. No compensation or empathy from them. They continue to raise the rent every year with no improvements to their run down dusty musty buildings.
DO NOT RENT FROM THEM !!!!!! literally run the other way

Do not bother sending in a rental application to Fenton. I had to put down a $500 holding fee along with my application back in January. Someone else got the apartment before me. I've been contacting them whenever I can to get my holding deposit back. Left serval messages and no call backs. Gotten multiple excuses like bookkeeping had the wrong address, was out all week, forgot to mail the check. It's been over a month! Where's my $500?!

Avery is kind. That’s all I can say. Everything else about this company is truly awful. As a student learning business and real estate, I don’t know how this business remains open. They just started an online payment portal but that’s it. Most months I had to drive all the way up to oracle to drop off a check or have it mailed overnight. I don’t have a car but had to Uber to drop off one simple key at the office. They only contact you when they want something and of course, it’s up to you to get certain things fixed on their properties. Most management companies are a pain but if you want to make your life easier, don’t go to Fenton. They want all the money they can get.

They took advantage of the fact that we did not have a move in checklist to do things like replace the back door for $500, rekey a door which they never gave us the key to when we moved in for $100, replace a loose refrigerator handle for $150, for example. They never told us that they were billing us more for our water than the pre-set $50 dollar fee. It seems like they just used up all our security deposit for whatever they could think of. I wish we had read more reviews of this company before moving in. They used to have many more negative reviews on google these seem to have been deleted somehow. Zach Fenton is buying up neighborhoods in Tucson he is behind several of the apartment buildings downtown. friggin capitalism :/
