I wish I could give 0 star to Henry and Allstate.

I have been a customer of Henry at Allstate since 2018. I had set up monthly auto-pay with paperless billing. On February 10, 2023, I chose to cancel my Allstate insurance policy by contacting Henry directly. He did not inform me of any outstanding balance on my account, and my online account was deactivated after February 10, 2023.

On June 20, 2023, I received a notice from a collection company representing Allstate, claiming that I owed them $232 and that they had already reported this to my credit report. I immediately reached out to Henry, who explained that it was a pro-rated premium for the period before I canceled my policy. I never received any billing information either by mail or online. I made the payment the same day, and Henry assured me that his team would inform the collection agency to remove the collection history from my credit report. However, even after one year, the collection history is still visible on my credit report, significantly affecting my credit score. Several banks have rejected my mortgage application.

The way Henry and Allstate has handled this situation is unacceptable. I was unable to receive the final pro-rated statement because:
1. Henry did not inform me of any outstanding balance when I canceled my policy.
2. I lost access to the online portal the day after I canceled my policy.
3. I was enrolled in auto-pay, and Allstate could have directly charged my credit card instead of sending the final bill to a collection company.

Avoid Allstate at any cost!!! Their system is still in the 80s.
