DO NOT use this bank. My husband passed away in September. The bank received a notice from Social Security to "hold ACH's" meaning social security payments. WHAT did they do? They held my direct deposit paycheck, we are now going on 2 months of this happening. I have to call the bank every time my paycheck SHOULD go thru to say "gee whiz could you please let me have my paycheck?" I was told numerous times "oh this should stop after a month or so" and "we will get that hold off your account." But No. My life is difficult enough with my husband passing away unexpectedly, I did not need this trauma also. I will be moving everything from them asap as I cannot trust them with my accounts.

Legacy State Bank is the BEST bank I ever known. I have been a customer since they opened in 2005. At 60, I have done business with several nationally known banks, but Legacy offered much more. Their customer service is beyond compare. Every position made the effort to know you and treat you as parting their family. In my experience, the larger banks do not make such an effort. I highly recommend Legacy for all of your banking needs.

Like the previous reviewer said below me, banking with local banks are absolutely the way to go! I love legacy state bank because honestly they are always available to help whenever you need it. I've gotten money orders fees (thanks UPS) and atm fees waived because since they are so small, you can virtually withdraw money from anywhere in the world.

Plus you get free checks from them as well, which is really lovely.

We love banking here. They know you by name, not by number - you are a real person. They may not have more than one location, but they do not charge for normal amount of ATM transactions that you may have to use in other places. So, to me, I do not miss any conveniences that the larger chain banks advertise. The staff is wonderful and knowledgeable, and we have never had any issues. I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Banking local is the way to go. As others have mentioned, you are a real person with an actual name. At Legacy State Bank, everyone knows my name, knows my wife and my children. I have banked at Legacy for the past 12 years and developed friendships along the way. Shannon Atha is their loan officer. She has helped our family with a refinance to a 15 year mortgage and with the purchase of our new home. She is very honest and upfront. She took the time to explain everything and our options. It's the only time I've ever had a representative from a bank come to a closing. Thank God she did because her numbers were different that those of the real estate closing attorney and it turns out, Shannon's math was correct, saving me some money. If you are taking the time to read the reviews, you are at least considering the idea of Banking at Legacy State Bank. I would encourage you to stop in and talk to Holly, Pam or Shannon.
