One of the most incredible places I’ve ever been! Highly recommend going for sunrise for the stunning views and to beat the crowds. Was lucky enough to see a group of bighorn sheep and there are also some great birds you can spot like the western bluebird. I spent over 5 hours at the park and would have spent the entire day if time permitted. Well worth the $35 to enter the park and there are numerous other lookout spots close by such as the desert view watchtower that are a close drive within the park. I will absolutely be going back!

The Grand Canyon is an absolutely breathtaking experience! The views are beyond anything I could have imagined; the sheer vastness and depth of the canyon are awe-inspiring. Standing at the edge and looking out, I felt completely captivated by the natural beauty stretching as far as the eye can see.

I’m so glad I was able to experience this remarkable place. There’s a peacefulness here that’s hard to describe—a deep, quiet stillness that makes you feel connected to something greater. The scenery is stunning at every turn, from the vibrant colors of the canyon walls to the incredible rock formations that seem almost otherworldly.

Whether it’s sunrise, sunset, or even midday, each moment brings a unique beauty to the landscape. If you’re a nature lover or just looking for a place to disconnect and recharge, the Grand Canyon is truly an unforgettable destination. I can’t wait to return!

It truly took my breath away. As one of the most popular viewpoints on the South Rim, it offers an iconic, panoramic view of the canyon that stretches as far as the eye can see. The sheer scale of the Grand Canyon is overwhelming, and standing at Mather Point, you feel both incredibly small and in awe of nature’s grandeur.

The viewpoint is easy to access, located just a short walk from the Visitor Center, making it perfect for first-time visitors or anyone looking for a quick stop. There’s also plenty of room to walk around and find the best spot for photos, though it can get a bit crowded during peak hours. I recommend arriving early in the morning or later in the evening for a quieter experience.

One of the highlights for me was watching the sunlight shift across the canyon walls, creating stunning variations in color and shadow. The view changes throughout the day, so it’s worth spending some time here just soaking it all in.

Epic moment in my life, standing on the rim of the Grand Canyon and checking off a bucket list item. Mather Point is a great place to see the vastness of the canyon. There were some crowds on a Monday in October but not too bad.

We came here to see the sunrise over the Grand Canyon and the view was absolutely stunning! It's indescribable how vast the canyon is, it looks like a painting or movie set but you know it's real. Sunrise is even more amazing with the play of colors on the different rock layers. Definitely a good spot to check if you're on the south rim. If recommend getting here early as it can get crowded.

Visiting the Grand Canyon was an unforgettable experience. The sheer scale of the canyon is breathtaking, with its vast expanses of layered rock formations stretching as far as the eye can see. The colors shift throughout the day, with hues of red, orange, and gold illuminating the cliffs during sunrise and sunset. Standing at the rim, you feel a profound sense of wonder and awe at the natural beauty. The trails offer a variety of perspectives, from the more leisurely South Rim walks to the challenging descents into the canyon itself. It's a place that not only leaves you speechless but also gives you a deeper appreciation for the natural world. I highly recommend visiting—it’s truly a must-see destination!

One of the most beautiful view points where we can see the mountain formations, walking trails, Colorado river,, etc. it’s ethereal when seen at sunset.
The worst part is finding the parking place after dark. Please remember the parking lot ( there are four lots ) where you have parked your vehicle using google maps. There are absolutely no lights or glowing signboards in the parking lots. Please carry a good torch light to find the way to parking. We had a terrible time finding our vehicle.

Amazing spot to stop at first when visiting the Grand Canyon. Perfect for sunrises or sunsets. As soon as you enter the park from the South Rim, Mather Point is one of the first lookouts you can access. It has a couple of walkways that look over the canyon. It is also connected to the Rim Trail, which gives you access to further amazing views. However, it definitely gets super crowded here. When we visited at 6 am, the point was full of people. Even though there is a crowd, I would still recommend seeing the sunrise here. Getting to the park early is a good idea, since you can enjoy it with less people (it will still be crowded) and with lower temperatures. We went during the summer, so it was warm and there were many tourists. Mather Point is definitely one of the top spots to see when visiting the Grand Canyon, so check it out!
