Nakowicz Financial has been taking care of my tax and financial needs for years and I couldn’t be happier with their services. Mike is honest, thorough, and relatable with his process's and I have always felt well educated with the decisions made for my family’s finances. Nice enough people but I had a terrible experience personally. My wife and I went to them in 2023 as our tax situation had changed and we weren’t comfortable filing by ourselves. They completely missed including my wife on our return which was discovered during our final review appointment. How that can happen is completely unfathomable to me. They added her on and we had to return to the office again for a review before filing.

We were not compensated for this oversight and inconvenience. They’re considerably more expensive than a turbo tax (despite using similar software) or similar service. I can understand this because they’re a family business offering personal service and convenience.

I decided to let it slide and not post a negative review because I was just happy it was over. Fast forward to 2024 - I received a call to “confirm my appointment” for this year. I never set this up. I can understand reaching out to INQUIRE if we’d like to do business with them this year, but to schedule me and put the ‘ball in my court’ to call and cancel the appointment is not a great business practice.

TL;DR: nice people running a family business but awful accuracy and customer service opportunities mean I cannot recommend or endorse this business.

Mike has handled my returns for about 7yrs. Over the years I've added several rental properties, sold homes, and opened a business. He always has me covered. His firm does the books for my business now. I trust him to handle all my financials. He is your guy if you need an awesome accountant.
