Before making a purchase at the resupply, be sure to check prices at the REI store. While there are great deals available, sometimes used items can end up being more expensive than new ones. Or, for a few dollars more, you could get something new and guaranteed to work. Items frequently go on sale at the REI store. Also, take the time to read the descriptions explaining why an item was returned.

Regarding customer service, I had a very disappointing experience on December 23rd. Another customer and I approached the register at the same time. As I made my way to the register, the other customer went through the stanchions. I arrived at the register first, and no one was available to assist me, so I waited. Eventually, someone came over to help and let me know that I could continue at the other side of the register. She mentioned, “I just want to let you know there’s a line.” However, since the other customer and I had arrived at the same time, there was no actual line. She agreed with me on that point.

I told the associate that she could assist the other customer first if she wanted, but she said it was okay. Yet, as she proceeded with the transaction, she continued to insist that there was a line. I replied again that she could ring up the other customer if that was her preference. When I asked why she was still insisting on there being a line if it wasn’t a big deal, she walked away and asked another employee to assist me instead. The 2nd woman was not friendly either. These have been the worst interaction I've ever experienced with customer service here.

We are big REI fans and REI members. This was our first visit to an REI Re/Supply store and it was an excellent experience thanks to Stan who helped us find everything we needed for our Joshua Tree trip. He listened to our needs and was incredibly knowledgeable about REI’s merchandise. He pointed us to the best tents for what we were looking for, steered us away from the ones that weren’t a good match, helped us setup and physically inspect *several* tents until we landed at the perfect one. Then he found me the perfect sleeping bag with a banging price tag. Plus he pointed us to the comfiest sleeping pads that were absolutely worth a little splurge. We feel super happy with all our purchases thanks to Re/supply’s great discounted prices and Stan’s excellent service. Next time we’re in LA, we will be back. Thank you guys!!

I called the store to see if they still had used paddle boards for sale. Since there is no customer support in a members-only feature of REI, I was put on the phone with a manager at the main REI about 30ft away from the RE/Supply.

These idiots refused to let me know if their paddle boards were still available to purchase. Immediate $700 sale refused to be informed because they were too lazy to walk 30ft. Moronic business behavior.

Re/Supply is amazing. Used gear at great prices. We were even aloud to pop up a tent in the middle of the store to make sure it was in good condition. Staff even took time to help us throw that bad boy up!
