They will definitely waste your time , one of the worst banking experiences. I put in for a few loans over a month ago kept getting emails saying I was approved, then they finally got back to me telling me those emails were computer generated and that they countered offer my asking request. Told me I was approved to move forward had me at car lots looking at cars , spoke to my lenders about the funding coming their way . Had me do all this stuff then had me waiting for over a month just to keep saying it’s under review then for them to decline it and to pull my approval . Such a waste of time mind you they approved me a loan prior that I paid back with no issues . I don’t recommend this financial institution at all , hopefully they go out of business soon .

People work here from a manager, banker and teller are so RUDE and unprofessional. This is unacceptable and this is their headquarter. Our whole entire family been member here for a very long time. They all said the same thing.

Unfortunately, the service I received from the Los Alamitos branch has been nothing short of sad and disappointing. Due to a traumatic brain injury, I've had to step in and advocate for my father since July 2023. It's only been recently that I've had to present a living trust to exercise the need for access to his account. Southland CU employees showed they are ill-equipped to handle situations as delicate as my father's. There was zero compassion, and not once did anyone think to ask how they could help without being short, abrasive, and unapologetic. Instead of shutting down an individual with your bank's legal jargon, would it be so difficult to listen and help instead of being rude and insulting? My father passed away a few days following this incident, so I will only return a third time when I have his death certificate in hand to close my account without further delay by your unhelpful and unfriendly staff.

If you're going to do business with SCU, avoid the Los Alamitos branch. The employees are AMAZING, but the manager at the Los Alamitos branch is a poor and embarassing representation of 20+ years of amazing customer service that has kept our family with SCU for so long.

While my mother--who like all of my family has accounts at SCU--was in hospice, this ignorant, rude manager could not have been more insensitive and in fact, made some very inappropriate and inaccurate comments regarding my mother. In addition, he internally processed transactions that, while entirely legal, were executed with zero communication prior--which is exactly the type of VULGAR and UNPROFESSIONAL behavior that is typical from this horrible excuse for a human being that they allow to function in a management position.

Any other representative of SCU would have, and has always, been responsible, ethical and professional and handled family illnesses over the years with sensitivity--something that the Los Al manager is entirely incapable of, as he is nothing but offensive, vulgar, and the reason I will soon be closing all of my accounts and advising my family members to do the same.

It's actually quite appalling how business during my mother's illness was handled by this professionally and socially deficient individual--not because anyone expects better from him, but because EVERYONE ELSE at SCU is so opposite.

20+ years of amazing service has been erased by his rude and inconsiderate actions, and has sent a very clear message that my family is NOT valued at SCU, but instead just amusement for this angry, petty little man's need to be malicious.

I’ve had this bank for a few years now as my primary bank and love it! Everyone at the Los Al branch is always so helpful. I had refinanced my car here and knew nothing, but they made the process easy to understand. I’ve also opened a second joint savings account. Even my boyfriend couldn’t believe what a simple process it was, without trying to scam us into signing up for things we didn’t need like the big banks do. Love this bank, and I’ll never leave it.

Wonderful experience! The tellers are friendly & helpful. I never waited more than 5 minutes at the Los Alamitos branch. I got a personal loan, & it was approved within 24 hrs. Love this credit union. It is the best place I have ever done banking. Everyone is extremely nice and accommodating! I highly recommend Southland Credit Union.
