Angela is truly missed. I have been with SRP since my aunt opened my first account when I was younger all the way up to me being an adult. I mainly dealt with Angela who was always a very kind spirit and always was very professional and efficient with addressing any of my concerns. I found out this year that she retired and I was devastated as I always looked forward to working with her for all of my banking needs. I went in last week and a gentlemen assisted me with opening a new account for my daughter. Unfortunately he was not successful in completing my request even though he assured me it was taken care of. I asked for confirmation that my request was submitted was told that I would receive a email and I never did. Angela was notorius for showing a request on her screen before submitting to ensure all information was entered correctly. This did not take place on the day of my visit. I decided to go to another branch that is closer to my house which is the Rutland location. Stephanie was absolutely amazing! She was able to show proof of her fixing the error that the previous rep had placed on my account. She also was able to print out proof for future reference. Considering Angela is no longer at this location and you have people making jokes instead of doing their jobs correctly I wont be back.

Update: it has been two weeks now since this has happened, not one person from SRP has reached out to me regarding this. They do not care about you.

I do not recommend SRP whatsoever, unless you want to lose access to your money.

I wake up early Thursday morning because I have plans to go to the other side of the state, I make a trip to the store before to pick up a few things before I leave, where I find out that my debit card isn’t working. This was strange since Thursday was pay day, so I open up the app to check my account, and I am unable to log in to see what’s going on, I can’t see my accounts, check my balance, change my password, nothing. So I go back home and try to wait patiently until SRP office hours begin at 8:30am, knowing that I need to leave by at least 9:15. Once on the phone I am told that I have to come in, they can’t help over the phone at all. I rush in and am helped right away, (no issues at all with the individual workers that I have ever interacted with by the way, they are good overall) come to find out my accounts are completely frozen. Why? Because my family’s tax return was direct deposited in my account to make things simpler for us, they need my kids to come in with me with an ID to prove that they are real I guess. I can only get one of my kids to come in that morning, my other kid was already at work. I explain to the SRP rep that I can’t bring my other kid in until 4:30 because he’s at work, is there anything that I can do because I really need to leave for my planned trip. But sorry, they can’t do anything until they see his ID, my accounts have to remain frozen until then, the best that they could do was let me pull out $100 cash from my frozen accounts to pay for gas for my planned trip. What a joke.

I had to cancel my trip last minute because I needed to regain access to my account that day since I worked 12 hour shifts on Friday and Saturday and could not wait until Monday to have access to my money. They did not care whatsoever.

So to summarize, SRP had an issue with a deposit to my account, I completely understand this, it has happened with other banks as well, they are trying to be safe. However, when something like this happens at any other bank they hold the deposit in question until they get the information or approval that they need, they don’t freeze your entire accounts like SRP did. The SRP rep even told me that someone on their end messed up by allowing the direct deposit, so my account was frozen for something that they should have prevented to begin with.

I highly recommend you to go to another bank, I closed my accounts as soon as I regained access. Credit unions used to have a good reputation, SRP ruins that reputation.
