I called because my father's estate got a refund check for the 2020 tax year from the IRS in August 2024 after I had repeatedly told the IRS I had already filed and they sent me a refund in 2021. On my first call to Tax Defense I was told that someone would call me back. That never happened. I called a week later and I was asked to electronically send them the Letters Testamentary for the Estate, which I did, and they never called me back. The third time a week after that I called and was told they couldn't start a file on the Estate without an IRS letter and I needed to create an account with the IRS to get documentation that I filed, which I already had. The fourth time I called I was asked to download and send them all of the correspondence I had gotten from the IRS and was also told that I had to accept a fee because I had no coverage even though I read the account number on my Tax Audit certificate to them. I got a call back the next day telling me that I wasn't covered for tax year 2020, even though I provided the documents that I was, and they told me the best thing for me to do was call TurboTax. I called TurboTax Customer Service and within ten minutes was speaking with a CPA. Tax Audit put me through four weeks of gyrations that TurboTax took care of in minutes.
