No stars. This use to be a wonderful community bank. Now all they care about is fees. Awful customer service.

I had a car loan with them which I paid in full. I had some money left over and what did they do with it? They kept it! They will deem an account "dormant" without prior notice and just keep YOUR money as a "fee". They’ll send you a letter stating that they kept the money due to inactivity and close your account. If they were honest, they would send you a check prior to closing the account.Thieves!

Sara. the Member Services Representative in the Thousand Oaks branch, worked with me from start to finish on my new car loan.
It was the best experience I have ever had with financing a car loan.
She was so responsive to every question that I had and she coordinated extremely well with the dealer.
I would highly recommend her to everyone who is interested in financing a car.

I wanted to take this time to share my excellent experience with VCCU in getting an a refi auto loan.

My overall experience was nothing short of fantastic. Most of that can be attributed to the excellent customer service I received from Sara B. From start to finish Sara was professional, competent, efficient, friendly and personable. It was wonderful to be treated like real person rather than simply be another file going to underwriting.

The loan I received was more than half off of the rate that I was currently paying, the term was reduced by two years and my payments were about the same. I could not be happier with the deal. I believe the whole process was done in less than 48 hours from my initial inbound call to Sara B.

I recommend that if you’ve been holding off on initiating the process of obtaining a loan, that you simply call into VCCU and let them get you a quote. You’ll be glad you did.

Ask for Sarah. She was phenomenal.

Online car loan application process didn't go at all like I expected.
Sound like a bunch of amateurs not knowing anything I ask about and getting a call person to go over application was just not right.
No one available to talk to and so unprofessional and since when do you have to do business there to speak to anybody!!
Considering moving banks and I will be declining any offer.

This branch is amazing and especially Isabel! I am very grateful for everything She has done for my fiancé and I. She has been amazing! She has helped us out a lot with opening accounts and managing them.
She provided excellent customer service! She would always email or call us about updates on our loans. I’ll always come back to this branch and I’ll keep working with her as long as she’s still with VCCU!

This credit union absolutely does not care about their customers. I've been a member for over 15 years and got a surprise email Saturday that my credit score had dropped 90 points from VCCU saying I didn't pay my credit card which I didn't have a balance on and hadn't received any statement for. I called instantly to find out what was going on and was told there was a fee put on the card and I hadn't paid it. I informed them I had never received a statement or a call saying it was passed due and especially during Covid when so many people are out of work you would think they would at least make a courtesy call before ruining someone's credit! The girl claimed they called three times but no longer leave voicemails. I demanded to speak to a manager and she promised one would call me. Six days later I still hadn't received a call so I called again and spoke to a supervisor. He gave me a completely different story that they had never called because they only send notifications by email now. I asked when I had signed agreeing to that when my junk filter grabs all their emails and he informed me they hadn't called or gotten signatures approving only notifying me by email but that they still would not remove the 30 day ding from my credit. This used to be a good bank but they have gone so far down hill. I switched my primary banking years ago when I saw the decline in VCCU's customer service but I'll be closing my remaining accounts and card after this.

Been with Ventura county CC for years. Their service is impeccable and very personal. They actually answer their phones so you can talk to a real person instead of getting talked to by a recorded voice, put on hold, asked to push numbers and get transferred, give your entire life IDs before getting transferreersd and then duplicating the whole procedure for the transfer.
